2017 Chargers have many features still found on the 2018 models. These include a best-in-class TorqueFlite eight-speed transmission. It allows for best-in-class fuel economy with the base 300-horsepower engine. The R/T ScatPack and SRT 392 models offer a 392 Hemi V8. This generates best-in-class horsepower (485) and torque (475 lb.-ft.). If that?s still not enough horses under the hood, you can step up to the most powerful Charger ever. The SRT Hellcat has a supercharged HEMI that produces 707 horsepower. With 650 lb.-ft. of torque at your command, you can reach a top track speed of 204 mph.
For 2018, all-wheel drive is available on SXT and SXT Plus editions, and it is standard on the new GT and GT Plus models. This system has a segment-exclusive active transfer case. The front axle can disconnect, reducing fuel use. These editions utilize the potent Pentastar V6 previously reserved for 2017 SE and SXT models.
For 2017, Dodge offers six models and eight combinations. This includes many style variations both on the exterior and interior of the five-seat sedan. Shoppers enjoy choices such as the Blacktop Appearance Group, special hood designs, and special graphics. With Track Paks, drivers can claim lower ride heights and other race-bred chassis alterations. Dodge is pulling out the stops for even more fun with the Charger. You can still get much of the previous appearance trims and packages. The SXT now has a standard touchscreen with the UConnect system. This includes Android Auto and its rival Apple CarPlay. SXT Plus editions now come with an option for Nappa leather with Alcantara suede-like inserts. GT editions wear a special gloss black applique. Red calipers are available with Brembo brakes on three models, or you can choose black, gunmetal or orange calipers for the SRT Hellcat. Other updates include exciting options like red laguna leather seats and gun metal gray stripes for the SRT Hellcat. This edition also gets new fender badges and a revised grille. The SRT 392 is now offering Brass Monkey wheels or 5Deep lightweight aluminum wheels. Shoppers can opt for special colors such as IndiGO blue, nostalgic F8 green, and Plum Crazy.
The 2017 Charger earned its safety credentials with a five-star rating from the national crash testers. Both the outgoing and incoming models have more than 80 available safety systems. To avoid trouble, you can get adaptive cruise control with a full-stop capability. The forward collision warning works to help you avoid trouble, and an automated component can trigger automatic braking. The lane departure warning comes with a lane keep assist. 2018 editions also mark the first time that every model has a standard back-up camera.
